Sigdal is a rural farming community in the east of Norway, and has a population of 3.467 people (as of 01-01-2020)
My dad, Rogers family comes from two distinctly different parts of Norway.
My grandfather, Ingvar Bøhn and his family are originally from Solumsmoen in Sigdal. My grandfather is one of six siblings - four brothers and two sisters. His parents - my great-grandfather, Ole Reidar Bøhn (born in 1902) was also from Sigdal, while my great-grandmother, Caroline Bøhn (børn Høie, in 1903) was from an area called Håland, on the island of Kvitsøy, on the west coast of Norway near Stavanger.
My grandmother, Elsa Bøhn and her family were from the far north of Norway - Borkenes and Kveøya in Kvæfjord in Troms. My grandmother is the oldest of five siblings - three brothers and two sisters. Her parents - my great-grandfather, Odin Enevold Alfred Wik (born in 1903) was from Borkenes, in Kvæfjord, while my great-grandmother, Henny Wik (born Knutsen, in 1906) was from Vebostad, on the island Kveøya in Kvæfjord.
Comment: I am still researching my family lineage with the help of my parents. I will eventually add more information as I learn more.
