Drammen is a city in Norway which lies 40 km southwest of Norways capital, Oslo. Drammen has a population of approximately 100.581 people (Updated per 01-01-2020), and is the 7th largest city in Norway. 21 % of Drammens population has a multi-cultural background.
The city of Drammen was founded in 1811 as a result of the merging of Strømsø and Bragernes, which now are suburbs of Drammen.
The Mayor of Drammen is: Monica Myrvold Berg ( Since 2019)
The former mayors of Drammen are: Tore Opdal Hansen (2003-2019), and Lise Christoffersen (1995-2003).
Update: As of 01-01-2020, Drammen merged with the two previous neigbouring towns, Svelvik and Nedre Eiker.
Drammen is my hometown - where I was born and have spent most of my life. Drammen is one of my most favourite places in the world.
